Laurie Anne's quest is centered around connecting with all of life. A philanthropist by nature, her intention is to respect natural law as she "walks the talk" from a consciousness of unconditionality, balance, harmony and compassion. Driven by her own call to a high standard of personal and professional clarity and excellence, she tirelessly and vigilantly cultivates her spiritual gifts and wellness techniques in the role of co-facilitating personal growth and/or healing.

“Be kind to one another.” – This simple phrase echoes what Laurie Anne feels is a crucial responsibility to global spiritual awareness.

"The greatest kindness we can offer each other,” she says, “is our own connection to a continuously refreshing balanced and harmonious presence emanating from deep within. An energetic soulful place that is unconditional, without expectation and free of judgment and limitation. It is from here, in the realm of natural safety, that we can know liberation, if only temporarily; knowing we have the choice to retrieve and release the spectrum of our unbalanced thoughts, sensations and feelings."

The multiple stages of healing are entirely about freeing up restricted and blocked energy in our being and in our life. These restrictions, which are often deeply rooted in experiences and memories can become lodged in the bones, ligaments, soft tissues, cells and the energetic field emanating from the whole being. This includes restrictions expressing themselves as having become trapped in one's emotional, intellectual and spiritual self. These imbalances manifest inwardly and outwardly and can appear as one's inability to create a meaningful soulful life. Conversely, restrictions in some areas can actually create a new internal/external environment from which one experiences new development and growth and or healing in other areas - perhaps leading to the unfolding of one's spiritual quest. Ultimately, we are continuously seeking a more balanced state through self-correction and self-restoration. Thus, each step along the way need not be judged as right or wrong but accepted as part of the course of healing.

Through the processes of coming into greater balance and harmony, we continue to regain greater motility, mobility and flexibility. We also have an ever increasing spectrum of choice from which we can create greater balance and harmony in our lives. We reap the rewards of recovering a healthy response-ability to self and to all of life.

Each of us has an innate intelligence. This quality of inner wisdom is equatable to the DNA of our true nature. Self-connection and self-communication at this level is truly not as cryptic as we may sometimes experience. It is natural. Our only goal need be to courageously and uninhibitedly fully connect with our true nature and express ourselves through our spiritual role here on earth.

If this all sounds too difficult, remember we are but one of an infinite number of unique expressions of nature in this great cosmos. Therefore, by our own idiosyncratic nature, we are self-designed to be seduced by who we really are and compelled, if not haunted to express that very nature. When we ignore that calling to our path, we know the price paid for nurturing our addictions to pain and struggle. Ultimately, we only struggle against our own naturalness. Laurie Anne King is a natural psychic medium. She is also a Shihan (facilitator) of a Japanese Spiritual Art and an Alternative Health Practitioner. She brings to her clientele years of experience having been in private practice since 1989. She is one of a small number of professional psychic mediums highly trained in various alternative healing arts including CranioSacral Therapy, Somato Emotional Release Therapy, Neuro and Psycho Acoustic Sound Therapies and more.

Her strongest asset is her non-judgmental approach. Having no bias regarding race, age or personal issues, she is as equally comfortable with infants and the birthing process as with death and the stages of dying. It is her mandate that interactions with others be carried out responsibly and with the upmost respect, honour and integrity. Laurie Anne adheres strictly to her own set of ethics which includes honesty, respecting everyone's free will, the right to privacy and confidentiality.

Chronology of Significant Events and Credentials

1988
Laurie Anne began formally studying natural healing. During that time she experienced a mystical homecoming that refined and encapsulated her life purpose. Laurie Anne decided then that her focus in life had become clear and she was to pursue a spiritually-based path of service through balance and harmony.

1992
Laurie Anne experienced a profound unexplained self-healing of a physical ailment (a uterine tumour the size of a grape fruit) through the application of 'laying on of hands'. Inspired by her charismatic experience and connection to her own "wounded healer", she began mentoring students with an understanding that healing can only be limited by the application of judgment(s) and conditions. "When you remove all judgments and conditions - the soul experiences liberation and illumination. These are the keys to Pandora's box of miracles!"

1993
Laurie Anne was introduced to quartz crucibles (singing crystal bowls). This experience accelerated her exploration and passion for further integrating sacred instruments into her practice. Today, with the assistance of more than a dozen crucibles and various other sacred instruments, Laurie Anne includes "Sacred Vibraic Sound Therapy" as a joyful and creatively fulfilling aspect of her practice.

1994
Laurie Anne began her path with the Upledger Institute, adding CranioSacral Therapy (CST) and Somato Emotional Release Therapy (SERT) to her practice. The body-mind aspects of CST and SERT and their scientific, medical and alternative paradigms melded instantly with her previous energy-based work.

Currently…
Laurie Anne continues the study and practice of CST (I, II, III) and Somato Emotional Release Technique (I, II) and is pursuing her CST Certification.

Laurie Anne is an alumnus of the core curriculum and a teacher-assistant of the Upledger Institute, a facility offering CST and SERT training and certification around the world.

She is a member of the International Association of Health Care Practitioners (IAHP), a coalition of health care instructors and curriculum developers dedicated to the advancement of progressive therapeutic modalities.

She also practices CST Pediatrics, having completed specialized CST Pediatric Training with the Upledger Institute. Laurie Anne willingly participates in 'births' whenever invited, bringing CST to the often challenging but rewarding process of labour and delivery. She also encourages the application of CST during and after birth for Mum and Dad.

1996
Laurie Anne began studying Usui-Do with Dave King and the late DoShen Lissa with a concision she had never before experienced. After having mentored with various Reiki teachers for nine years, at long last, she felt a deep inner alliance with these two individuals and a profound inner knowing that they indeed possessed the clearest comprehension and factual information about Usui and his work. She was transformed and humbled by the knowledgeable and precise instruction, recognizing another significant transition and benchmark in her life. Today, Laurie Anne is delighted to be a Shihan (facilitator) of Usui-Do and Usui-Teáte under continued guidance.

1997
'Spirit' psychically 'downloaded' a system of personal transformation and healing that Laurie Anne was guided by "Spirit" to call Taraka (liberation). Taraka continues to expand - inspiring both recipients and Laurie Anne. She extends much gratitude to the 'Ancient Ones' for their continuing guidance of this technique and ongoing teachings.

1999
In Laurie Anne's desire to further understand Usui's system, she began to study and practice Five Element Taoist Arts with Dave King.

January 2000
Laurie Anne was awarded the "Best of Toronto 2000" readers' poll award for Toronto's Best Psychic. This was another one of those benchmark moments as an unsolicited invisible audience advocated for her and her work. She is deeply grateful for the acknowledgment. Laurie Anne does not actively pursue media or public attention, preferring to work quietly and away from the limelight. She feels that "Spirit" is her greatest advertising agent and thrives solely on a referral-based business.

April 2000
Her dream trip to Japan came true and somewhere high in the peaks of MT Kurama and the temples in Kyoto, a series of mystical experiences left her forever changed and with a profound yet indefinable affinity with Usui's system that continues to unfold to this day.

July 2000
Laurie Anne was invited to begin the journey toward Rokudan (6th Dan) with Dave and DoShen Lissa (who both studied with Onuki in Morocco and Tatsumi in the foot hills of Japan starting in 1971). DoShen Lissa also made several significant connections with existing students of O'Sensei, including Tenon-In.

At the same time, Dave and Laurie Anne decided to merge parts of their complimentary health practices and began co-teaching Usui-Do. In her own words, Laurie Anne stated: "My dream of teaching Usui's system around the world is now before me. Words fail me in attempting to convey my sense of joy and excitement."

2001
Given her enthusiasm for ancient and contemporary sound therapy technologies, she incorporated Bio-Tuning into her practice which is a form of Neuro and Psycho acoustic sound therapy. Laurie Anne completed a course of study in Behavioural Psycho acoustics at the California Institute for Human Science in Encinitas, California with its developer, Dr. Jeffrey Thompson, D.C.

Laurie Anne and her associate Dave offered Bio-tuning jointly. However, as of May 2004, due to country moves for both Dave and Laurie Anne, this work is temporarily unavailable.

October 2001
Laurie Anne and Dave were deeply honoured to teach their first Usui-Do Shodan workshop in Japan. This experience confirmed the importance of applying the essence of the old traditional ways, still present in the Japanese culture, to the presentation of Usui-do.

July 2003
Laurie Anne achieved Shichidan (7th Dan -the highest level in the system). At the exact same time, across the world, Tenon-In, a surviving student of O-Sensei, recognized this achievement at a vibrational psychic level. She sent word across the airways with the gift of a spiritual name (dojo name):

Aki'e

When the Kanji characters are conceptually translated, Aki'e means, "One who recognizes benevolence". Definitely another benchmark moment for Laurie Anne, she is eternally grateful to Tenon-In for her beautiful gesture.

September 2003
Laurie Anne completed her Advanced CranioSacral Training in Sedona, Arizona, USA. The depth to which she reached within herself opened an inner door to the seeding of a new life. By December 2003 she knew she was beginning a huge process of letting go of her life in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

May 2004
Laurie Anne packed a few sentimental belongings into a sea container and saying "see ya sometime" to family, friends and clients in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, she bravely set sail for Australia. And so she surrendered to a powerful unrelenting tide of change that haunted and tugged at her for many years.

A new chapter began unfolding personally and professionally as she settled into a new land and sets up a new private practice in Queensland, Australia!

Laurie Anne maintains a long distance practice through the internet and telephone with her clientele in Toronto, Ontario and abroad.

October 2004
Laurie Anne began a course of study with the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia. www.bowtech.com. This is an Australian home grown body-mind technique that gently assists the body in retrieving stored information about one's natural homeostatic state of balance and well being.

Charismatic Reminiscences
As a young child Laurie Anne experienced a paranormal perception of life. Witnessing discarnate spirits and psychic manifestations and receiving information through the audio and visual spectrums of the human energy field, her childhood was coloured by periods of poor health, brain seizures and trauma. On the early life thresholds of consciousness she encountered different realms of "spirit" and became aware of Carl Jung’s "collective unconscious" or universal consciousness; specifically a non-judgmental, overseeing, all knowing and all powerful sentient consciousness vigilant to observation and a reflection of nature. In other words, this is a type of non-separation and connectivity to all of life in the cosmos and beyond.

Being still a child, she could not clearly communicate her experiences until she was older. One significant aspect of this awareness was of that of the laws of nature. This awareness instilled a desire to be respectful and kind to others without judging their presented imbalances. She also felt her own unbalanced thoughts being detected by an all knowing presence and there was no possibility of concealing her own calamity, corrupted thoughts and feelings. Her nature has always been based in a desire to literally "serve and protect", adhering to the golden rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you".

“Even a lie to the self is a form of betrayal to the fabric of integrity of the greater consciousness of this universe,” she says. “it is a self-betrayal of one's spiritual role in the universe affecting the whole."

Laurie Anne's late Mother never dismissed her encounters with "spirit" or her strong personal ethics. In fact, she encouraged her to continue being open to "spirit" and her inherent spiritual awareness. She taught her to always remember that she was naturally safe in the name and experience of God's light and love. Laurie Anne shares: "To love God, Goddess, All That Is with all you are, through every feeling, thought and action is a path of balance and harmony and a connection to wholeness."

Laurie Anne's grandmother "Effie" was an Arcadian Native Indian originally from Quebec, Canada. She was known as a natural psychic medium and healer and was given the endearing nickname of "Angel". Laurie Anne's Father recalls "Spirit" guiding his Mother to speak truths and to touch with loving magical healing hands. When Effie received news of someone who was ill she would visit them in their home and sitting vigil, she applied hands-on healing and in some situations, the mask of death receded. Her Grandfather was also considered a healer of sorts. His humble yet endearing claim to fame was making warts disappear within days of him touching them. They both openly believed in the intervention of the hand of a supreme being and are a source of personal guidance to Laurie Anne.

Connecting to her Native Indian heritage over the years has resulted in Laurie Anne's sense of connectivity and sensitivity to all Aboriginals on this planet. She recognizes all creeds, races and tribes. One People. One Tribe. One Nation. One World. 'All that is'. She happily announces she is a "Global Aboriginal".

1977
By the age of 14, Laurie Anne was experiencing a profound amplification of her psychic abilities. With the support and encouragement of her Mother, she sought out the advice of a well-known International Psychic Healer in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This gentleman graciously validated her visions and paranormal experiences. His advice was simply to acknowledge her inner truth and to always use her gifts for healing. The gift of his advice was a benchmark in Laurie Anne's life and inspired her to begin the journey of embracing and expressing, even when vulnerable, her true nature.

Early 1980's
Laurie Anne became increasingly aware of spiritual guidance gently encouraging her to explore and cultivate her natural mediumship. At this time she connected with the inherent ability to self-induce a deepening trance state where spirit could facilitate the sharing of information and offer healing to attendees. Previous to this, her trance states were spontaneous and unpredictable, often manifesting late in the evening while she was fast asleep. Prompting a childhood pattern of 'sleepwalking and spirit talking' "Spirit" orchestrated many opportunities for her to develop slowly and safely in front of loving audiences of family and friends before she was to open the doors to the public.

Late 1980's, early 1990's
During the beginning phase of her professional life in the late 1980's, Laurie Anne was thrust into a series of frightening psychic events ultimately awakening her from child-like naivete and spurring growth in the understanding and purging of unbalanced energies. She learned how to recognize and yield to corruption and darkness and the resulting destructive forces and psychism of such powers. She feels that most people will find themselves confronting darkness from a vulnerable and frightening place of isolation. Her own experience now allows her to offer clear support and counsel to others during such dark times.

"It is critical that we remember that the more fearful we become, the more powerful becomes the darkness that haunts us, which utilizes our fear like a rechargeable battery to continue its assault. Building self-connection, remaining free of judgment and holding to one's personal power, clarity and wisdom are keynotes to overcoming these events."

1996
Laurie Anne was invited by a friend to attend a small private gathering to receive a teaching from a Indian Yogi who was visiting Toronto at the time. To Laurie Anne's amazement, as the Yogi entered the room and took his seat, he glanced around the room and stared directly at her momentarily. He then immediately left the audience and retreated to his private quarters. Laurie Anne was discreetly approached by one of his devotees and invited to quietly go to his room at the Yogi's request. She hesitantly but respectfully entered his room unsure of what was to follow. He was sitting in a classic yogic posture in meditation, perched on top of a hotel coffee table that had been carefully draped with elaborate white silk fabrics. His robes were shimmery pumpkin orange and fuchsia. The brilliant contrast made her smile from within. As she sat down before him, he opened his large dark eyes. She was overwhelmed at the surreal presence of unconditional love within him and felt time and space cease to exist for those moments. He was radiating a profound iridescent twinkling light and said very little except: "You need to remember who you are and why you have returned." After this, he returned to his meditative state and closed his large almond shaped eyes. As she walked towards the door, she turned to glance back at him, still spellbound by her experience. His beautiful 'Mona Lisa' like Shen smile was her parting gift. The experience touched and awakened every point in her personal universe. She returned to the group lightheaded and bewildered and waited with the others for him to return to offer his teaching.

1997
Laurie Anne experienced another precious and unexpected encounter, this time with a Peruvian Shaman. He discreetly picked a handful of participants, including Laurie Anne, out of a crowd that had gathered to be part of a shamanic fire ceremony and offered to give each a special reading using coco leaves as an oracle. Laurie Anne was deeply touched by his kind gesture and was immediately mesmerized by his inner and outer beauty. He possessed a rare spiritual nakedness. He had never left his native village in the jungle of Peru till this one and only visit to Canada. Through translation of his native tongue to English and in the simplest of concepts, he urged Laurie Anne to recognize her greatest strengths as an infinite source emanating not from herself but from the mountains and seas of this great planet Earth. Secondly he invited her to accept that her task in this life time is to connect with as many people as possible and facilitate their personal growth through her inherent gift of unconditionality. His vibrational presence and his transformational words became another benchmark moment in Laurie Anne's life, leaving her with the realization that her unconditional love for God was an infinite source of strength, clarity and wisdom.

Her love and faith in "spirit" continues to reveal her path, one step at a time. As opportunities are unveiled, she is challenged and reshaped and grows beyond her own inner barriers whilst sharing her gifts wherever she goes. Laurie Anne recognizes that her path is about service through her own self-connection and self-healing.

Over the years, Laurie Anne has continuously pursued her interest and research into the world of the paranormal, ancient esoteric teachings, nature & animal communication and natural healing.
